2008 Venice Architectural Biennale, Italy

S1ngletown is based on a statistic: in 2026 a third of the world’s population will be living on their own. The project was a combined effort of the Dutch design company DROOG and KesselsKramer to explore lifestyle products according to this statistic of increased single living in the future. The challenge of this exhibition was to make products relevant but also interesting for an “architectural” event. S1NGLETOWN was an abstract interpretation of a new kind of urban space, where visitors could walk its streets and interact with the products. General complications included working with three parties to maintain one vision and prioritizing given the limited budget and resources available in Venice.
